IT Governance Interim Review Process

As of June 2022, the IT Governance process is being revised. While this revision is taking place, all IT investments made at VCU are only to be submitted for a security, accessibility and portfolio review. Please use the updated IT Investment Review form to submit investments for review while this new process is being developed. For any questions, reach out to itgov@vcu.edu directly. 

 

How to Submit

1. Consult with IT professionals in your area prior to submitting the IT governance proposal for review. These professionals can provide much-needed support for some of the questions that are more technical in nature. In addition, they may know of existing solutions that may be available to meet your needs. 

2. Request your vendor to complete the following documentation. For more information on these two documents, please see the Accessibility and Security pages:

3. When ready, complete the following form to submit for Governance review:

4. The IT Governance team will do an accessibility, security and IT portfolio review of your proposal. Upon approval, you will receive an IT Governance approval number for your proposal by email. This number is good for the duration of your initial contract with the vendor. Please note that subsequent contract renewals after initial contract terms and/or additions of products or services to the contract may need further review.
